A Fireside chat about current avalanche research going on at the University of Calgary.
Please join Bruce Jamieson and the Applied Snow and Avalanche Research group from the University of Calgary (ASARC) for an evening of presentations and discussion about current avalanche research happening at the university of Calgary. Bruce is the current NSERC research chair for snow and avalanche risk control. He and his graduate students will introduce you to their recent work in a series of informal lectures, about 15 min each. Topics may include: Deep Slab Avalanches (where, why, how), quick obs vs. snowpack tests, spatial variability and potentially several other topics . The event is taking place on Wednesday November 24th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Spirit West located at 1210 11 Ave SW.
